School Emblem

About school emblem

Our school emblem was designed by Hanya Takase in 1896. He was an art teacher and a character in a famous Japanese novel, "Botchan", was created after him. ("Botchan" was written by Soseki Natsume, who was one of the best authors in the Meiji era.)

In Ehime prefecture, our school is the only one that has kept its original emblem that was made more than 100 years ago.

The geometrical pattern used is based on a star and is said to stand for some desires for the students - To be thoughtful and charitable, and to shine forever like a star.
